Porteños braced the second consecutive day of intense heat in the City and Greater Buenos Aires areas with the registered heat index reaching highs of 40 degrees Celsius. By 8am, the registered temperature had already reached the 30 degree mark.
The National Weather Forecast Service (SMN) reported however, that rains are expected to bring relief this evening dragging down temperatures slightly.
The yellow alert issued yesterday remained intact today, warning those aged over 65, babies, young children, and those suffering from terminal illnesses to take extra care, as extreme heat can be particularly dangerous.
After the rains reach the City, and greater Buenos Aires area, temperatures are expected to drop over 10 degrees on Wednesday.
