A new train service between the capital and the coastline was inaugurated today, set to run a daily service from Buenos Aires' Constitución station to Mar del Plata, the government announced. The modern trains provide a brand new service right in time for the holiday season.
The trains labelled Talo IV, will run daily from Monday to Saturday between Constitución and Mar del Plata and the return journeys will run between Sundays and Fridays, whereas before prior services were restricted to two days per week.
The service increased its frequency “due to the high demand, as it’s the end of the year and the summer holidays,” stated the Transport Secretary.
“To cover the service on a daily basis there are two new trains with nine cars, both adding to the service which has been in place since August this year,” they added.
The service includes an onboard café, buffet service, air conditioning, reclinable seats, and LCD televisions. Estimated journey time was stated to be at five hours.
Tickets cost $150 for economy class, $200 for Pullman and $250 Super Pullman, per journey.
